Big Stone Lake saw a lot more fishing and boating action over the weekend.  It was great to see so many take advantage of the fantastic weather!  The only thing better would be the ability to report excellent catching as well, unfortunately, that can not be said.  The anglers that were out were obviously seeking the perch, but were only able to find a scattered one or two.  There was an occassional walleye, but plenty of white bass and sheephead to keep the rod tips bent.

Water temperatures remain on the warm side and with the forecasted highs in the mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s it may take awhile to cool down.  There will be many more boaters hitting the water by Labor Day Weekend which is the traditional start time for the perch bite.  We will be watching and waiting to set the hook.
