"Pheasant Capital of the World"

Redfield offers a traditional "Small Town" setting with many of the social amenities of our larger neighbors. Located in east central South Dakota, Redfield serves as the County Seat for Spink County.
We are located in the heart of pheasant country and proudly live up to the name "Pheasant Capital of the World". Hunters gather from all over the world each fall during the months of October to December to hunt this great bird. We are located in the Central Flyway and also have some of the best spring and fall waterfowl hunting to be found anywhere.
Fisher Grove State Park, just to the east of the City, offers great camping and picnicking on the banks of the winding James River along with a picturesque 9 hole golf course. Just to the north of Redfield is Two Bridge Llama Ranch. This is an actual ranch where llama are raised. Touching of the animals is encouraged.
The quality of life can't be beat here. Opportunities for family, social and outdoor activities are what brings people to this friendly - hardworking community. A modern hospital and clinic with a 24 hour county-wide ambulance service and emergency room, recreation programs, city pool with a water slide, parks, Arts Council, service organizations and churches, are part of what makes Redfield a "Great Place to live and work"!
