"The Hospitality City"

A City founded by the railroad
The railroad industry played a major role in the founding and development of Milbank. The Milbank Train Festival is held the 3rd weekend of August each year to celebrate this heritage tradition. Complete with train rides, holdups and sometimes meals along the way, this festival draws thousands of people and is a fun time.
Big Stone Lake and Lake Farley provide fishing action and water activities. Nestled in the Whetsone Valley, Milbank boasts of some of the finest waterfowl and game hunting around.
American Legion baseball was first conceived in 1925 here and an historical marker commemorated the event near the community baseball field.
Unity Square, a 39,000 square foot community recreation center was completed a couple years ago and is used by visitors from miles around.
An active, healthy Main Street along with a mall and supporting business draw shoppers from a large area. County Seat of Grant County, the residents of Milbank are very proud of their city.
